Seagrave was founded by Petri Isomäki (voc), Karri Tiljander (gt) and Vesa Kolu (dr). The ensemble was completed by Ari-Matti Rintala (gt) ja Timo Vesterinen (b) in 2005.
The band began by traditionally playing cover music, mainly focusing on Bruce Dickinsons solo pieces. In 2005 they began working on their own material and consequently when their own songs grew more numerous, cover material was slowly dropped. Today they play their own music almost completely having left a few cover songs in set for flavor.
In the fall of 2006 the band released it’s first 4-song cd.
In fall 2007 Sammy Salminen from Ancara professed his interest in joining the group. The very first rehearsal demonstrated that there was no question, he was the right man for the job. They did a few very good shows with him. Nice bloke, a GREAT singer, but finally they had to let him go, due to a lack of time, family reasons and the making of the new Ancara-album...

Nevertheless, the band is up on its feet stronger than ever and has just finished the recording and mixing of the new full lenght album. The new material is strong and melodic heavyrock or as said pure 'Maritime metal'...
