Welcome to the Official MySpace Music Site for Robbin Torrey.RT, as he likes to be called, has been a performing musician ever since he was a little kid. Classicly trained as a performing musician thru Elementary, Junior High and High School, RT will tell you that he has been very fortunate to have had great success as a musician. After high school, RT joined the US NAVY. After auditioning for the position, RT was chosen as the Drum Major for the Navy Drum and Bugle Corps. After Bootcamp, he transfered out to Southern California, San Diego to be more specific, and served his tour of duty there. The best part about being in Southern California in the late 1970's was the musical scene. Commonly refered to as the birthplace of the American punk music movement, RT threw himself into the raw and radical new sounds of the time. Now if you only knew RT today, you would'n think that he had deep roots in punk, but if you were jammin' with him back in the day then, oh yea, he rocked some asses off!In the Early 80's he moved to Texas for a short time and became infused with the combination of blues, southern rock and country all mixed into one. At the request of his old band back in Michigan, RT found his way back to his roots and the place he'd always called home.In the mid 80's, as an extension of his musical career, RT began a second career in television as a producer/director. Today, RT runs the television operations for the City of Marysville Michigan. (please refer to www.myspace.com/robbintorrey for more information on Robbin's television career.)In 2001, RT took a break from his television career to spend more time with his music. He was asked by the legendary guitarist Al DiMeola to join forces with him and his group called World Symphonia. In the Spring of 2001, RT flew to Moscow, Russia and St. Petersberg, Russia to perform a series of concerts with Russia's biggest pop idols Leonid Agutin and Angelika Varum. The concerts were shot and taped by Russian Television Channel 1 for a televised musical special to be aired later that year. When RT finally came back to the States he returned to Detriot to continue his television career. Now RT is more active than ever playing both acoustic guitar, electric acoustic, electric guitar and a variety of bass guitars. RT is the musical director and bass player for his classic heavy metal band called "Badd Motor Finger" ( please refer to www.myspace.com/baddmotorfinger).
