Ricardo Monteiro

Ricardo Monteiro started playing guitar seriously at the age of 19, when he got his first electric guitar. At that time, he learnt to play by listening to songs, mostly blues, rock and metal. After a while, he got his first instructor, and started to develop techniques and learnt theory. He also spent some time studying at EMT in Sao Paulo, but he is mostly self taught. In Sao Paulo, Ricardo gained experience by playing with cover bands in rock bars and night clubs such as Cafe Aurora, Alkatraz, Kazebre Rock bar and Cafe Piu Piu. He also taught private lessons for three years in Fabiano Manhas' institute. In Brazil, Ricardo worked with musicians like Ronaldo Lobo and Fabiano Manhas.In 2006, Ricardo Monteiro moved to Los Angeles to get fresh musical experiences, and to study at Musicians Institute. While in LA, he has worked with Stuart Smith (Heaven and Earth) while playing for an artist he was producing. Inspired by rock and blues styles, Ricardo Monteiro has been dedicating himself to develop his playing technique and abilities mirroring those of Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Reb Beach, Duane Allman, Derek Trucks, Eric Sardinas, George Lynch, Jake Lee etc.Ricardo Monteiro is currently living in Los Angeles, pursuing a career as a guitar player.
