DJ Octave

About Me

DJ Octave was born and raised in Nairobi Kenya. Loved music ever since he was a young age about 10 years. He used to listen to house music and reggae. At about 12 years he started to listen to hip hop you know, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Ice T, Dr. Dre, Mobb Deep, Rage, Tu Pac etc etc. He loved that kind of music. Snoop and Dr. Dre plus Guru ahh! were his favourite. He loved their music along that DJ called DJ Primier I think. Then at 13 years he was introduced to DJing by Deejay Bob. Loved it ever since. Although he did not do a lot of shows or anything like that. But he practised a little during the weekends and after class 8, he stopped doing it but still loved it. He went into high school where he joined in the Christian Union (CU). At Form 2 of Moi Forces Academy, he gave his life to Christ but still loved DJing. He never got to play again till he finished form 4. This is the time he got his first Dual CD Players set and a mixer. He started practising for about 2 years. He started doing weddings and parties. They were a lot of fun. He also produced his first hiphop single that one day be put it out for people to download and hear so remain here and stay tunned in. He kept on practising and soon he started DJing for The Journey (a campus Ministry at University Of Nairobi Hostel area at Ufungamano House). He did that for about a year and a half where every friday he was at ufungamano house from 6 - 8 pm. It was at this time when he felt that there was a need to create some kind of hip hop community for freestyling, djing and break dancing etc for Christ. Then about a year passed which was in 2007 and the idea of MadLove Lounge came up and was advertised at Mwafrika.com. He saw it and immediately wanted to join them. So fast forward He joined them and is now one of the DJs. Then at the begining of 2008, he started to wirk on the new wax of hope mix tape. Through out the year the mix kept on changing. New things were being tried and tested etc untill an eventual product came into the market. It is fresh it is cool it is dope. So get one today. Currently he spins for a youth service at Mamlaka Chapel. Plus a new single by a well known freestyler called Jefro Mose Katai and Judge known as amen was produced by your DJ. Have a taste of it right here. The video is also available too. These were 2008 productions. The story is still to be continued ...............
