Johnny Floor moved to Bryson City in the Summer of 2002. The energy brought him here. Becoming the managing partner of Lands Creek Recording Studios and reuniting with former band mate and drummer, Robin Fronrath, work soon began on his first full-length project. What resulted is homage to the R&B, blues, and country roots that every American feels in their blood. Fans relate to the intimate subject matter and smooth grooves that the record offers. Plus, one can't help but dance!
Growing up in South Florida, JF began his music career in the late sixties and was soon deep into the area's original music scene. He played bass with The Glass Brothers Band and they soon developed a loyal following.
Great music was coming out of Texas in the mid-eighties, so Johnny headed that way. While based in the Austin music scene, he hit the road with The Misbehavin' Band playing original music and working the legendary Texas circuit - opening for artists such as Ray Wylie Hubbard and Kinky Friedman.
The nineties brought the music back to Florida, this time with a vehemently "Texas feel". His band was one of the mainstays at the many rock and blues venues and was always a crowd pleaser at the outdoor festivals. Not much can beat good Blues, Brews, and BBQ!
JF not only writes and sings, but plays bass in the band. Of course, he keeps a cantankerous cadre of cohorts: rich harmonies offered by his wife, Karen Floor (his Secret Weapon) and smokin' guitar by Phil Watford and Zach Thomason - just to round out the sound. So come on down, pop you a beer, and grab your loved one. Shoot, give 'em a spin on the dance floor and rejoice in the revelry that is…
