About Me

The Haitian Incident is a retro styled, rockabilly, voodoo zombie comic book set in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti in the summer of 1955.
All the characters in the story are based on real people who are living and breathing today and all the featured musicians are modern day rockabilly, psychobilly, alt country, punk and swing bands who you can go see and support in real life.
The story and the cast grow on a near daily basis and it all continues to spiral deeper into a world of wild rock n roll, voodoo, lust and death.............
The Haitian Incident was started as a little side project by the freelance artist/clothing designer Miss Christy Lou.....but shortly after The Haitian Incident expanded into a huge, wild and wonderful project that grew into something no one could have expected. It continually gets better due entirely to the incredible cast which supports and inspires every page and portrait.
Slated for a late autumn 2008 publication release, the characters and the story have already provided the inspiration for a summer 2008 fashion line, a Haitian benefit organization and more than a few new songs in the genre.
Christy would like to thank everyone who has volunteered or agreed to be part of the project, all of you are the fire that keep it going and the heart and soul of it's evolution....and a big thanks to all the bands and professional pin-ups/burlesque dancers who graciously agreed to appearances in the story.... Wolfgang Parker, Three Bad Jacks, The Voodoo Kreepers, The Moonlight Cruisers, The Alley Dukes, The Blasters, The Lowertown Trio, The Phantom Cruisers, Luis and the Wildfires, Bernie Dexter, Marti Brom and Ava Garter just to name a few........
