Wow, what a ride this has been. This musical journey has taken me from the Apollo stage, to all around the world. It also opened an opportunity for me to minister in Capetown, South Africa. Starting in 1986, I’ve stepped into the wedding club date world & I’ve enjoyed all 20 years. Working with Jerry white from Steven Scott has allowed me to sing with & for special celebrities such as Tony Bennet, Holly Robinson & Gene Wilder to name a few. I was also a singer in the extraordinary JK Band, (band leader)…Joel Krantz. During these years I’ve sang gospel & toured Europe with the Glory Gospel Singers & was offered a recording contract. This led me to sing with The William C. Gilmore Chorale in Queens, NY. My gospel roots, this is where I learned to play the piano & discovered I was a songwriter at the age of 16. I became a publisher songwriter & producer later in life. I was an Amateur Night winner at the Apollo which empowered me to know that I can accomplish anything in life!! Thank you Apollo! We all know that in this business, most gigs we get are from knowing someone to get us on, which is how I was able to sing background for Erykah Badu, Glen Jones & the Delphonics at the Issac Hayes Birthday Party. In 2005 I opened a dance & vocal studio called Y.O. City the Refinery School for Visionaries in Yonkers, N.Y. Nothing is more gratifying than giving back to others & sharing the gifts we’ve been given. Which leads me to now, present day…my singing has taken me the motherland. Capetown, South Africa. What an awesome trip & ministry! I am a firm believer that music & singing is the best form of healing & deliverance. Music is POWERFUL. May I continue to allow music to take me to the lowest & the highest peaks in life to encourage & heal all mankind.
