In 2004 Skarlet Blue re-formed as a four-piece original rock band writing and gigging their original material all over melbourne, leading to their first break in 2005 when they scored a residency at Melbourne’s famed MERCURY LOUNGE supporting acts such as Diesel and Emmanuel Carella. This residency gave Skarlet Blue the chance to establish their solid fanbase as well as give them exposure to some of Australia’s prominent music industry personnel.
2006 was going to be a telling year for the band. They added new bassist Ryan Di Cecco, who provided a strong backbone to Skarlet Blue's music while adding energy and power to the live shows. They continued to write catchy rock tunes and established a strong catalogue of songs. One track, "It Feels Like..." was also included on the "Coca-cola Live 'n Local" compilation that year.
In 2007, Skarlet Blue decided it was time to record a full-length album. They enlisted renowned Canadian producer Mark Berry, who flew down to record their album which resulted in 10 killer tracks on their album, titled "HEADLIGHTS," that has so far received an incredible response both in Australia and internationally. An independent American film grabbed three of Skarlet Blues songs to use in their film before the album was even mastered.
The Start of 2008 brought exciting news to the band with the addition of Rock Powerhouse drummer Joe Torrz completing the line up which has been getting rave reviews across the music scene.
Skarlet Blue has appeared many times in numerous street press magazines, and has made the front page of the newspaper in Melbourne. Their explosive live show, combined with their catchy tunes and steadily growing fanbase has led to them supporting some of the countries most renowned artists, such as: THIRSTY MERC, EVERMORE, SHANNON NOLL, AIRBOURNE, SCREAMING JETS, NOISEWORKS, CHOIR BOYS, JAMES REYNE, MARK SEYMOUR, and DIESEL. The band is also receiving air-play in North America and Canada, and hope to tour in the near future.
