My roots are very humble. My brothers and I grew up just like any other bear cub, playing in trees, sneaking treats from the occasional picnic basket, or fishing. But as I grew older in the woods of Shenandoah National Park, I began to notice a change. Each year I saw less of those nice people in wide brim hats, more deteriorating bridges, and smoggier views throughout the park. What was happening to my beloved home? What about other national parks?
Reading the newspapers campers left behind, I noticed one thing that was missing from the presidential debates--our national parks. Until, finally, there it was! I noticed the words ‘national parks' and decided to read more. Much to my dismay, one of the candidates was suggesting drilling in the Everglades! Many of my friends live in the Everglades!
Enough is enough America. This is not the kind of attention we want our national parks to generate. So join my campaign, because I will work hard to make sure that our national parks will be preserved well into their second century. I will make sure that our national parks are a national priority.
