Burba (Moloko Booking)

Born in '68 out in the sticks in the” SAUERLAND“! Started listening to WAVE & INDIE in the early 80’s.. My biggest influences were the SMITHS, HOUSEMARTINS, JAZZ BUTCHER, WOODENTOPS and stuff like that.. Also got to know some Rockabillies and Punks at that time, and got into my all time heroes THE POGUES and stared listening to ska. ( Bad Manners & Specials ) That was the time when I went from dressing “dark & new wave “ to a skinhead style with some mod influences. I’d then prefer to listen to THE JAM or COCK SPARRER, and got into bands like SKREWDRIVER ... A lot of my friends were Psychobillies back then, so I was also listening to their music and often visited festivals with bands like METEORS, FRENZY, GUANABATZ, BATMOBILE, RESTLESS, DEMENTED ARE GO playing. It was an amazing really great time and I will never forget it .. as goes for our legendary club in Letmathe/Sauerland the CHAMELEON! I also started running a small record label then and produced THE PRIDE, BITTER GRIN , VANILLA MUFFINS, DISTORTION, JIMMY KEITH, DISTRICT, PURE IMPACT, and our German heroes EISENPIMMEL! I ended up moving to Essen in the Ruhr valley “Ruhrgebiet” and started hanging out with Torsten from the well known MOLOKO PLUS fanzine. A bit later after lots of planning & drinking, ( or was it drinking and planning ? )we went on to produce the MOLOKO PLUS together. I'd also started booking punk rock bands and worked for bands like WHISKY PRIESTS, BLYTH POWER, RED LONDON, GUTTERSNIPES, GUITAR GANGSTERS, TV SMITH. ATTILA THE STOCKBROKER, 999, RED ALERT, BOOTS & BRACES and some more.. I changed my style and was not longer a Skinhead now by the way... My biggest dream back then was to run my own shop, but the only problem was to find the right location in the right town. The Ruhrpott area was full of good shops and I decided to move back to ISERLOHN (Sauerland) to start up! WAKE UP was born and ended after only two years in a big chaos, lots of trouble, financial problems, private illness and some more.. I'd lost my shop, my money, my girlfriend & a big dream! I returned back to ESSEN and it took nearly two years to forget all this shit.I'm still into the music business nowadays, selling clothing & music online, organising & booking local gigs ...not more, not less!
