SITE TRAFFIC & 'COMMENTS' POLICY
Yep. Like Wall. SD, my lil' ol' site here is becomin' a d-e-s-t-i-n-a-t-i-o-n . Call it 'virtual ice water' if you will (I know some o' u will git that!). Lotsa folks are commenting now, and advertising their bands. Co-ool! But let's get real: there are limits. If yer pix are too big;too raunchy; too many of them; hateful in some way; ultraviolent; use swears gratuitously, and so on, they're gone. I'm not crazy about positive references to death either. Seen too many good people die young. Seen too many people suffer as they pass. To use the vernacular of youth--death sucks. Fight it off. OK? If you wanna re-post with an amended version; that's awesome. And...none o' that 'I just bought you as a PET see how much yer worth ' stuff. I hate that. Also, older posts will get removed, especially if there are many pics, videos, etc. Just re-post agin' if u want. I thank yeh. Solo-Up!
'FRIENDS' with EROTIC SERVICES
I have nothing against the 'oldest profession' other than it isn't relevant to me. And it really belongs somewhere else besides my myspace page. So I edit out all 'friends' that are obvious covers for 'erotic services'. No hard feelings. Just doesn't belong here.
PICTURES ,"EYE CANDY", AND THE BOYS IN THE BAND
I am so glad u enjoy the shots. Everythin you hear and see here is by me. There ain't no 'band'--at least recording. I use a backup band when I play out; they are called "EAST BY WEST" and the members change depending on the gig and location. I had some help settin' up the site, but that's it. Ain't no clip-art Joe!
AGENTS;LABELS; PROMOTERS
Solo is gittin' a bit irritated by the hype I git. Solo isn't looking for a 'major label'. If you want to license the master then make me an offer. Cash in-hand. Cay--ahsh! Don't need no agent thank yeh kindly. Promoters...have somethin' specific and a draft contract. Tell me why this meets the needs of the fans and helps pay my bills. Get'em best dawg get'em best bark!
INTERNET RADIO POLICY
Solo is excited about your cool plays there DJ's! Jes' keep in mind that we made brandin' to keep the cows with the right cowboys...if you don't report to ASCAP and BMI, I can' let you git yer free MP3's fer media play. Real sorry, but Solo has to pay the bills fer the feed! If you are an ASCAP-reporting station, then drop me a request at [email protected]. I thank yeh!
**SOLO'S PLEDGE TO ALL FRIENDS (Kindly read)**
I am most obliged for your takin' the time to drop by. Everybody is welcome. You'll never get any nasty, crude, ramblin's (nor spam) from me. Once in a while, I may drop you a note to let you know there's somethin' worth checkin' out. As the computer nerds say, WYSIWYG.
I'm doin' this site 'solo', with a little bit o' help from some good friends (who also help with the web sites). But there ain't no suits nor geeks (rec execs and interns) drivin and populatin' the bus here. This is a single man operation powered by an American Dream.
I hope you end up buyin' somethin' but I don't assume it, and I'm surely grateful if ya do! I've got no axe to grind...just a few to play fer your kind consideration. Thank you so!--SOLO

SURGE Pressing 1 SOLD O-U-T!...NEW REVIEWS OF "SURGE"!...SURGE Pressing 1 SOLD O-U-T!

As much as I wanted to dismiss another Americana CD in an already mountainous pile, Solo Down’s ‘Surge’ gave me pause. Not the least was the CD package itself, which shows no instruments and no musician, let alone a singer. Without delving into the stereotypicality of country, rockabilly and rock, Solo Down forges a melting pot that works, works well, and go beyond those forms into something new. This shouldn’t be surprising, given Down’s shtick about ‘getting down a legacy’ based on travels in the US over many years. Solo Down has a voice and knows how to use it, not just as a singer, but as a mouthpiece for an America that still vibrates with oddities, failures, longings and self reliance, the US you don’t see on the evening news. Whether he’s harping on the sarcasm of blues pills and getting in the mood in Love Comes Around, failure and it’s consequences in Wind Upon My Shoulder,a western diner-turn-strip joint in Cellie’s, lost friends and isolation in Fire in the Rain, or the angst of being a traveling musician in Ten Days out, Solo Down’s ‘Surge’ rings true with that stab of America that goes beyond hillbilly music or the vapidity of southern rock and rockabilly and pushes the present rather than the past. **** ½. – RockFever Review

From out of Everywhere USA, Solo Down launches a second course of modern Americana with slurps of country rock blues and RNB. Hook laden songs with some of the best country and rock guitars heard in quite a while . We thought this type of guitar playin was dead. Nope. Solo’s got it on 11. Standouts include-- Wind Upon My Shoulder, Beautiful Losers, World Ain’t Made For Lovers, and Cellie’s.—Pickers Grin

Heart , mind, soul and Solo. This (SURGE) is an exceptional collection that reminds us why we love this type music in the first place. A- Recommend--Joe's Bar and Swill Music Beat

Sounds Like:
Hittin ya with some new clear AMERICAN Music! The sound is biiiiiig! The words written from a crazy quilt of experience. Y’all like: Eagles; Beatles; most other kindsa critters and even Rascal Flatts; Bruce Springsteen; Lucinda Williams; Johnny Cash; Van Morrison; Bon Jovi; Roger Miller; Ryan Adams; Garth Brooks; Phish; Doobie Brothers; Bob Seger; Creedence Clearwater Revival; Counting Crowes; Roy Buchanan; Steve Earle; Everly Brothers; Neil Young; and (the anti-Neil) Lynyrd Skynyrd; R.E.M.; Stevie Ray Vaughn; Duane Allman; Tom Petty; John Fogerty;Bob Dylan; Brian Wilson (Beach Boys); the Band; Sheryl Crow.
Solo Down has led a full life’s journey that’s taken him over up and through the heart of America on the road that travels constantly on...through the trials, sorrow, and joy. Learning and hangin’ with musicians, some famous, many now gone, Solo found that expression is what makes the journey possible, and that expression must be, for him, a legacy of song. Along the way Solo taught himself how to play a barnful of instruments and to sing with a brimmin’ heart, full sound, and a style like no other. Coming full circle, Solo is now "gittin’ it all down", celebrating his long journey,in portfolio of song. The result is a powerful gumbo of styles with a distinctly contemporary pedigree, with lyrics that speak of truths and happiness often left unheeded. Songs that convey the longing, sadness, hope, joy and salvation of the American spirit. Songs with a self-reliant synergy of composition, a rich and fully orchestrated ’wall of sound’ with guitar and keyboard emphasis, and high fidelity recording. All done solely by Solo Down himself. With over a dozen instruments at play. Solo Down’s first album from his extensive songbook is called: “Hero or the Fool”. followed by "Surge". And as either hero or fool, he steps out, one foot in front of another, to stake a well-earned claim in the legacy of American music. .. ..
