Reading is Essential Book Club

About Me

We are a book club that was founded in March of 2007 - The founder and President is Zephanie Curlett and the Vice President is Cheryl Joyce (both of Atlanta) Our goal is to meet other like minded individuals that share a love for reading. We are not interested in how many people we can get to join R.I.S.E, quantity is not important, quality is!!! We want people to join us that has a strong desire to meet monthly and discuss GREAT books.....One of the questions that people generally ask prior to joining is "What kind of books do you all read?" That is a valid question and I answer it like this: "We read ALL kinds of books, all genres and all authors" We do not discriminate or read books only by African American authors - We do not limit ourselves to just one genre - Everyone does not like Erotica, neither does everyone like Self Help...Each month a book is chosen by a different member of the club - We decide during the meeting if everyone is comfortable with that selection and if so...We roll with it!!!!Women letting themselves go is becoming a crisis. We get so busy taking care of everything and everybody else, that we tend to neglect ourselves and our wants and needs. Sometimes we need to get away from it all. We need GIRL TIME! So bag the business meeting and ditch the dishes, your to-do list will wait. Get out and connect with other fabulous women! It's time to enjoy yourself in a Book Club so why not make it "Reading is Essential"!
