The intentional impairment of one's eyesight results from falling in love. A chosen way of life where finding flawlessness is a "sure thing" by learning to see someone as the solution to a question with no definitive answer.
fear inhibits people from expressing their emotions, no their love, to their significant... they are afraid that their other half doesn't feel the same, won't understand, won't care, and anything else that leads to the end of a relationship, when in all actuality, their lover really might be on the same page, but also too consumed by fear that they hold back just the same... if only this weren't true... if only intimacy could get the point across... if only two souls could somehow inherently know... if only their heads would ride the same wavelength... if only their hearts could simply trust completely... if only it were that simple... but even then, would it be enough?... yes! must be honest with myself about this... I believe, after realizing how pertinent my whole "theory" of fear and love is to my relationships, I have found a friend who fits this seemingly daunting checklist of characteristics... and as no surprise, I hope, I believe it is you!... But how can this be?!... all odds are stacked against you and I when basic attraction is factored into the situation... so again, how is this possible...because we are not constrained by the social standards the world has set upon us when it comes to relationships and physical intimacy, like the titles of girlfriend or boyfriend or the sex, between significants... because subconsciously our "beings", our intangible selves, our inner selves, whatever you consider it, have the amazing capability to recognize the insignificance of all the cramping notions of the collective population... because none of these all powerful and unwritten laws bestowed upon the world matter to you and I... because we say "I love you" and wholeheartedly mean it... but, this is only me ranting what I believe to be true and genuinely unique... I have put my everything, my mind, body, soul, my love, on your plate because I want you to know how I feel and I am not afraid to let you know... FEAR, however it manifests itself between you and I, will not cripple me... and, however you feel is still important no matter what I say... whether you feel the same or not, does matter... yet, I will still feel the same undoubtedly and eternally... because I believe we know all this...because it’s not you and I... because it’s us... I know this sounds indescribably intense... let me justify all this by saying you know me and how intense I am, how I believe that the English language will always be insufficient in explaining our emotions, and that as a writer and hopeless romantic, this is the result... please don't let fear break us by scaring you away... this is just my best guess on what goes into "I love you" when you hear it from me... I guess this explains when people say that words carry weight or impact...
Practically every single line in CHASING AMY does it for me.
"What do you think an artist cares about?... Fine wines and black-tie affairs? No! He lives only for that narcotic moment of creative bliss! A moment that may come once a decade or never at all!" ART SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL

“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life, that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.†EMERSON
“There is a sobering side to eccentricity. Odd behavior can flourish only in a tolerant society and that it often produces radical new ideas by virtue of its willingness to cast off accepted norms. Blessed are the cracked, for they shall let in the light.†GROUCHO MARX
"I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood. that the speaking profits me, beyond any other effect." AUDRE LORDE
"we all write about love don't we. but love is the thing. it is the thing that will always need the most nurturing and attention. it is the thing that we can taste when it is gone. it is the thing that makes a smile that can not be unsmiled. it is the thing that the world beats to." ingrid michaelson
