Atlanta Sedition Orchestra

About Me

The Atlanta Sedition Orchestra (ASO) came together in late 2007 in order to serve radical and progressive organizations by providing a booty-shaking soundtrack. We are a street band in the tradition of New Orleans, Brasil, the Labor Bands of the US, the village bands of Eastern Europe and generally, street music everywhere. We have nearly 20 members and are still recruiting. You can be a virtuoso at your instrument, or someone who hasn't played in years; you can be brand new to playing and willing to learn. We practice Sunday evenings. We'll be playing benefits, radio shows, marches, demonstrations, protests and shows at local clubs and in the streets. We will support good work, bring some energy to those around us and most importantly, have fun. ............................................................ .................................................... ............................................................ .................................................... ............................................................ .................................................... ............................................................ .................................................... ............................................................ .................................................... ............................................................ ................"If you have not seen this band, they look and sound as if a marching band escaped from a Tim Burton film to rock your mom's [multiple expletives removed] house. They marched, dancing in sync, right past the stage, telling the crowd to follow them to the streets...and we did. It's hard to resist following a band that features a girl playing a double Tuba, painted like a dragon. Yes, you read me correctly, a dragon. The ASO proceeded to march and dance back and forth in front of WonderRoot for about an hour, grabbing everyone within reach to join them in their demonstration of how hard band kids can tear their instruments. HARD. I will be seeing them again." -http://wrstudio.blogspot.com/..
