Eyes are Blind

..Eyes are Blind originated from a hole in the ground and now is FLYING.Picture a desolated train station at night, a canal with boats where people live on, the lights reflected in the shimmering water, a nearby church, shops and midnight traffic and there you have the settings of “the bunker”, the first rehearsal spot of the band. Nothing more than a hole in the ground, but it sure had it’s own atmosphere. Erwin, a graphical artist and photographer used to jam there with literally everyone who could hold and instrument or a vacuum cleaner. One night Herbert came along with one of his many guitars. Everyone played and played and there was more noise that structure. Other people walked in as well, and tramps hided against the rain. People shouted along and occasionally stole our wine. After maybe two years it was time to start to think differently… The singer who came along was Leo, accompanied by bass player Nathalie who already had played in the new wave band d’Arc Daze and also played in the heavy rock band “Bornn” at that time. It was time to move to another spot. The bunker had meanwhile flooded due to heavy rains, the toilet didn’t work and Leo objected to the excess of smoke and the un-emptied ashtrays. A perfect rehearsal spot was found at MCA in Rhoon, the well structured looks of it also seemed to structure the music. The band started rehearsing there in August 2007, only to find out by the end of September that Leo wanted to quit, the music just did not fit him as he had hoped. A show was already scheduled for the 7th of December and now the band was without a singer. It was decided that a female vocalist would suit the music better so auditions started taking place. Some singers were perfect except for that they could not sing. After 4 or 5 auditions, by the end of October the band was still without a singer when all of a sudden, out of the blue, Esther, also an artist and a painter, came along with her incredible voice.
