About Me
Ilan Green, also known as GREEN, is a well-known Musician in Israel. Having been more than 20 years in the field, Green was involved in many projects and events, from being a member in a leading rock-band (The Tractor's Revenge) for 15 years, through his solo albums, to taking part in a wide variety of art-forms like Performance events, Video Art, Theatre live music, music for Ballet etc. etc.
Another field is Instruments designing and building. From acoustic inventions to electronic manipulations, made of beautiful woods or pieces of found junk, from well-tuning systems to a total noisy audio experiments, Green designs, builds and uses his own instruments in many of his projects.
For the last 10 years Green entered the world of education, first as a teacher (Acoustics and Instrument Building, Synthesis Theory & Practice, Ensemble Direction, Internet Design), and since 2003 he founded and runs the New Music department at the Musrara School in Jerusalem.

Born Tel Aviv 1963.
Musician, Performer, Lecturer, Instruments builder & Inventor, graphic and web designer.
1989 Eastablished (with A. Belleli and O. Leibovitch) The TRACTOR'S REVENGE, where he took part at 7 CDs, live music for dance (KIR by Ohad Naharin & BATSHEVA dance company), music for plays (Othello, Romeo & Julliete), films etc. At 2004 he left the band after 15 years.
During that time he was playing with DURALEX SEDLEX (cd: Dom 1995), produced cd for OLIVE (1994), and released 2 of his own:
Where does the dark go to when the lights are turned on (1996) - Accompanied with exhibition of illuminated boxes images made by green.
Little Record (2004) - A collection of songs in hebrew, written, played, sung and recorded (at home) by Green.
At 1999 he eastablished the group KRECHTZ with Gil Wasserman. Home-grown electronics, high-end control instruments, kitchen appliances and circuit-bent toys, provide the playground on which KRECHTZ compositions are based. KRECHTZ performed at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival (2002), Istanbul (2004), residency and performance at STEIM (Amsterdam 2002).
Since 2003 he eastablished and the head of the New Music Department at the Musrara School at Jerusalem.
During the last 10 years green wrote music and participated in a large number of plays and art performances:
* DINNER DRESS (1997) Performance by Tamar Raban (Wien Woche, Hamburg Kampnagel, Zurich Spectakle).
* ORI (2002) - A play by Ori Drumer - first place at Acco Festival.
* Ovadia the Cripple (2004) - A Play based on a novel from Shay Agnon.
* At The Sea (2005) - A Play based on a novel from S. Yizhar.
* Delete Alef to Shutdown (2006) - Performance art based on the Yetzira book of the Kabala.
* Read Yizhar (2007) - A collection of S. Yizhar stories.
* Voices of the Levites (2008) - A special project, in which Green have invented and built 16 instruments that used to be played at the 1st and 2nd Temples. The result is performed in a concert, where these instruments are played by 4 players to texts from bible and writings of the time.

Marimba Table (2007) - Double marimbas mounted on a table to ba played by 2 persons.
