Raised in the shadows of Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" via her upbringing on Springsteen's Jersey Shore, Rhys channels another era with her doe-eyed pop and soul. Lush orchestration and compelling arrangements accompany her wistful lyrics and smokey voice. Jillian's breakthrough came when she bested 2,500 other contestants in 2003's NY Idol Contest for 95.5, WPLJ, capturing first place with her rendition of Etta Jame's "At Last," which lead to a tree song demo deal with Hollywood Records. Jillian also finished in the top 5 in CBS, Yahoo, and Justin Timberlake's 'My Grammy Moment' in 2006. She is working with the noted producers, The Churchills (Alicia Keys, Spin City,The Ruling Party) on her debut cd which will be released in spring of 2009 of Near Records.
