About Me

At the age of eight Geno heard a three piece band rehearsing at close range, in a friend’s living room. He walked away from that experience knowing he wanted to play the drums, even though it was Ken Nelson on the Rhodes piano and bass pedals that captivated his attention. Geno became the youngest member of many local rock and top 40 bands, winning the Jazz instrumentalist of the year award in 1981 as a freshman in high school. He moved to the Los Angeles area briefly in the 80’s where his knack for electronic drums and programming drum machines got him work on demos and jingles. Geno picked up the bass in 1985, with two instruments under his belt he was soon playing all across the Western United States performing Top 40, R&B, Pop, Soul, Jazz and Funk; with a number of groups. Deciding to leave life on the road he settled in Bozeman Montana where he was soon managing the local music store, Music Villa. Since that time he has played many styles of music with a host of great players and made brief tours back to many of the destinations he used to haunt. Geno has been the director of The Bozeman Bass Bash since 1998. This annual educational event has given him the opportunity to play & teach with some of the best players in the world of popular music. Geno played bass in Big Caboose & The Soul Penetrators for 9 years a 7 piece group playing great funk and soul with an original twist. Now busy with work he's recording music for himself at home. Most of his waking hours he is the Regional Sales Manager for the Hanser Music Group.
