About Me

I stared playing music when I was 10 years old. I played clarinet for a year and switched to saxophone, which I played for 4 years. The first time I picked up a bass I was 13 and wanted to try out for jazz band. But didn't decide to play bass until I was 17. I saw Victor Wooten playing with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones playing a song by the name of Sinister Minister and I was hooked on bass. So I asked my dad to show me the basics . He was a bassist from the 60's psychedelic rock n' roll era .So yes, I am a 2nd generation bassist . One of the bands he was in, was when I was around 4 years old. I remember watching them practice and getting to play with the drums. I think that's why I fell in love with music. After he showed me the basics I didn't put down the bass. I started listening to as much music as I could and was also influenced heavily by JACO PASTORIUS . I then studied jazz performance and music theory in College . I never received a credential ,but continued listening to as much music as I could. Listening to everything from Jazz to Punk and I fell in love with the sound of Rockabilly and especially Rockabilly slap bass. So I got an upright bass and taught myself how to play Rockabilly slap bass. Listening to some of the best Rockabilly slap Bassist's I could find. Some of them that influenced me were Lee Rocker and Djordje Stijepovic to name a few. I am currently playing with the Blunotecats . Check us out on here and Youtube.
