Dee | Prince of New York - A Millie Freestyle
Devin Rodriguez from Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico born on Independence Day a sophomore attending highschool is better known as the sensational local rap & hip hop artist named “Dee†from Bronx, New York and is clearly a master in disguise when it comes to producing good music that the people have been waiting for. His success made him progress over the years of his rapping career. It all started in middle school million of composition notebooks full of rhymes ago where rapping was just a joy and a hobby to Dee. As the years passed making music became a lot more serious to the young lyricists growing up from free styling against kids in seventh period Spanish class to recording amazing songs in the booth in front of the microphone and performing some of the tracks in front of hundreds of people.
Currently working on the new highly anticipated album called “Actual,†it’s guaranteed that this project will be a hundred times more successful then the last album “Rebirth.†The last album (Rebirth) was a great forty minute long album released on October 23rd 2007 (non-profit). Having what critics say “Hits†such as “Far Away From Here, Taking Over, I Know You Wanna, Life, I’m Sorry†and “Me, Myself and God,†and much more. Although their were only 10 tracks on the album most of all of the songs had official time of a regular song (not one featuring in any of the tracks). Dee plans to use the same tactics to get the same result… success. The positive words that Dee says in his songs are highly motivated to both make you stop and think, and also assure you to love the sound in your ears. “Far Away From Here†was one of many brilliant songs by Dee, everyone still remembers the catchy chorus “Take me far away from here, where theirs nothing but tear, till I’m tired running from fear… Far away from here just lead me their.†Even though Dee doesn’t make club banger songs such as 50 Cents “I Get Money†or Soulja Boys “Crank That,†he still makes the song great to listen to and would have anyone feel its emotion and would want to bop their head. Dee says that “Music is now pointless to the extent where you’re only interested in hearing the beat and not really much to anything the artist has to say because it doesn’t really matter, but I believe that music is about what the artist wants the listeners to hear… Every time my pen touches paper and I write the next song I think line for line what inspires me, what am I writing, and how will it impact the listener,†the concept of “Rebirth†is referring to hip hop music in general.
The album “Actual†so far is going good and should be completed within spring of ’08. Already revealing the first track of the album called “Hate Capital†is proof of how good the album will be. The same messages are being put out but in a whole new different style, scheme, and sense. “Test the facts, corner of bad is where we shiftin', Peace can this be what I'm barely givin'. Every minute I'm livin', is makin' new sinnins, I'm achin' to give in, but instead start breakin' my limits†(in verse 3 of Hate Capital). There are also a lot more guaranteed “hits†that would be an affective crowd pleaser such as “Make You My Shawty, Hard To Say Goodbye, Spread My Wings, and Swagger at 100†and many more.
Being born and raised in the Bronx makes a big difference of what the artist Dee is today. Only having his mother raise him since the first breath from birth justifies just how strong people can be no matter what the odds are. Having a first person view and experience of what life really is inspires Dee to continue to write about the pain, suffering, and struggles that people go through every waking day. That’s why to the people Dee’s music has so much value because he speaks the truth based upon facts that we live in. The track called “Life†in Rebirth is a great example of actual life saying such powerful words like “God written on my right hand… on top in gray, But I’m drownin’ in my struggle so it washed away. Beginnin’ my death-wish, start to choose my grave, It never came to mind that I could probably start losin’ faith.â€
“I look at life in a different perspective, I don’t see the things that are bad because that’s too simple and obvious, I look at what isn’t good and give my own mixture of ideas and then write about it†said Dee. The people, surroundings, and the plots all around Dee are his inspiration to writing more and as long as there’s conflict Dee finds someway to make something out of nothing and write a magnificent song to it wither its from producing “Rebirth†or constructing “Actual†to more. “As long as there are people in my life that I can reflect on and be inspired off of it will always push me to continue writing no matter what.â€
