About Me

MO5 FILMZ strives to become this century's Black cinematic revolution. Created to fill a void in mainstream entertainment, our goal is to shoot films of a higher caliber which uplift our community and educate the masses to the everyday, and not so everyday, struggles and unmet needs that exist within the boundaries that have been set for ourselves by ourselves and others. We wish to destruct these boundaries by constructing productions that do not glorify the lack of positivity surrounding us. But we wish to present a problem and explore solutions that otherwise may not have been suggested as the norm. Drugs, gang violence and AIDS are not the only harmful issues wreaking havoc upon us. Other problems such as fatherless and motherless homes, adoption of our children (or a lack thereof), infertility, poor educational institutions, and an overall neglect of our youth, continue to cut our legs out from under us. Exposure is the only means of tackling and overcoming these obstacles. MO5 FILMZ willingly and excitedly pursues the task of bringing to light what are some of the most prevalent and least seen experiences of the underprivileged. Another aspect of our mission is to build a foundation for our youth by providing an outlet for creative expression. We aspire to collaborate with schools in developing artistic programs focusing on film writing, producing, directing, and acting in order to nurture a new generation of intellectual artists. To teach young people that there is another, more constructive, way is one answer. Still, to give them the skills they need to create another way for themselves is an even better answer. We hope to help them envision themselves in a better place than those who've walked before them... And to get to that place! MO5 FILMZ brings into fruition a progressive vision for our future. Through education, encouragement, exploration, and utmost commitment, we offer to ALL cinema what is lacked. We make movies that ask real questions and open the floodgates of discussion. And only then can we confidently begin the journey to success.
