About Me

I was born on April 2, 1985 to two parents who ended their relationship 6 years after my birth. Not wanting to be a victim of a "single-parent" household, I promised myself to not let my environment stop my progress. Fast forward to middle school when I was offered the opportunity of a lifetime to attend a prestigious college preparatory school though the A Better Chance Program. I attended school in Boston at what was then considered the # 3 college prep school in the United States. That school was where theater became my life. I realized at this institution that my mission in life was TO REDEFINE THE IMAGE OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN MAN IN THE WORLD THROUGH THEATER, EDUCATION AND EMPOWERMENT. My motto is that there is no ONE way to be a Black man in America and everyday I strive to show my fellow men and women that complacency isn't an answer to anything. I have taken control of my life and I will keep on until I am an actor who can affect change! I was recently accepted into the Musical Theatre graduate program at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. I love what I do and I love art, in general. I also love my family, my mother (who is the woman I fight with and who is the first love of my life), My sister (who is making her own place in this world as a young woman) and my little brother (who inspires me each day to keep doing what I do). To my LIVE 5, you know who you are. You keep me going and I Thank God for you all...and most of all, to the people who believe in a young black man with a dream...I thank you all for visiting my page! Keep in touch and be careful!

The Boy from Virginia Follows Through (Part 2)

The day after I turned 24, I was big on making To-Do lists. For some reason, I felt like I was being more productive than just sitting around all day, and it focused me. For example, I planned to go t...

The Boy Virginia Made Remembers (Part 1)

I entered into 2009 without any slogans or little mantras (where the last word rhymed with the number nine). Instead, I was asking the question, how dare any of us think our problems are more importan...

An American Guy in Scotland

On my first Thursday in Glasgow, I found myself sitting in a position that I did particularly care for: alone, in a restaurant (a Pizza Hut, mind you) watching the rain. This is such a typical vision...
