Growing up in Compton’s Carver Park doesn’t leave a young man much of a choice as a way out. However, Triple P Recording Artist, Cino has always had his ambitions set on obtaining more out of life and making a positive difference in the place he calls home. Being born into the street life as a fourth generation Crip, Cino had to hold his own in the city that took the lives of some of his closest friends, and lead to others being sentenced to years in prison. The daily experiences of life in the Willowbrook District would prompt Cino to begin reciting his lyrical chronicles at the age of 16. An entrepreneur of sorts, a young Cino was given his name by his classmates for bringing hundred dollar bills to school, a spin-off of the term “C-Note.†Weighing his odds as possibly becoming a statistic, at the age of 21 Cino decided to take a chance and relocated to Las Vegas with his brother, a chance that would eventually lead to him becoming signed to Triple P Records.Working at a factory warehouse in order to stay out of trouble, Cino would often share his rhymes with his co-workers. One day a mutual acquaintance of the CEO of Triple P Records would become so impressed by Cino’s display of his talents, that he commissioned him to rap on the phone for him. This would lead to Cino securing an invitation to the label’s recording studio for a trial session. His first studio session with Triple P would prove to be a success; with the freestyle he recorded finding a place on DJ Drama’s “Insane Gangsta Grillz†mix-tape. Balancing a universal musical style and a mixture of both records for the streets and the clubs, Cino has generated such a strong buzz that he has even graced the cover of Ozone Magazine’s Spring 2008 West Coast Edition. With the support of a strong independent label behind him, Cino is gearing up to make his impact on the rap scene.Cino’s new single “Thang-Thang†is currently receiving a positive response from radio, as well as club DJ’s nationwide. With an up-tempo production and catchy hook that is sure to keep dance floors packed, Cino finesses listeners through a typical night in the club filled with women, drinks and good times. Currently on a national radio promo tour to promote the new single, Cino will also be making a special television appearance in BET’s “Spit Yo Game†campaign, which airs exclusively during Rap City. Far from what might typically be expected of an artist with an affiliated background, Cino proves to be a well-rounded artist with goals of creating a future of musical harmony.
