That was a flawless recording! LOL!

About Me

Starting as a group of a few friends, Otox has grown to a close-knit band. The band was started by Dustin King, after picking up some of the basics of bass guitar. Seeking other musicians, he found a few friends that he thought would make a band. With many options not working, he was confronted by Derek about working on music together. Many lineups that were tried were unsuccessful, but eventually they hooked up with Eddie and E N Inman. This proved to be a strong line up, but got roughed up by some internal conflict. Derek and Eddie eventually parted ways and the band went through some lineup changes. The time the two spent apart from the band finally led them to realize that they couldn't really do without the musical monster that is OtoX. The original four assembled once again and found their newest member, Dustin W. to play guitar. This work did not come easily. We literally sat around in Dustin's shed for hours learning the basics of our instruments and the general idea of music. This really is proof that most anyone can make decent music if they actually put the time and effort into it. You have to fully commit yourself, and that's exactly what we've done. If you've met us, you know that we're the biggest bunch of idiots around. We honestly are a group of jackasses that spend alot of our time mocking other people and making ourselves look ridiculous, but when we're not doing that... it's music, music, music. We know we're not everyone's favorite band, because of the way we treat people, and the general message our music conveys, but this doesn't bother us. We're making the music we want to make and writing how we want to write. If this doesn't satisfy you, that's a shame and all, but keep it to yourself. We're doing what we want to do.
We record all our music independently, as this gives us the ability to get the sound we're looking for without having to listen to someone else's opinion. Derek Steele is amazing when it comes to working things out musically. We always strive to get the best possible sound we can. We're pretty much all perfectionists when it comes to music, but when it gets down to everything else, we're just idiots about it, honestly. We make 20 mile trips, just to get a bottle of Mountain Dew, when we could walk a minute away. We waste the small amount of money we do have on Pokemon cards, for no reason and we're just basically morons. Yeah, we're pretty stupid. However, our music is not. Most of the time.
The Legacy was the absolute best venue we've ever gotten the privelege to play. It wasn't all fancy or anything, but it got directly to the point and gave the real music lovers a chance to escape and see what they wanted to see and hear what they wanted to hear. Unfortunately, this venue's been closed. We saw the greatest local band we had ever seen there; that being Fatal Theory. We'd like to thank every single one of you who had made their way out to that venue and supported us. You guys are truly the greatest fans any band could ever ask for.
