Nordic Fusion6 was started the spring of 2004 by six young musicians in Stockholm, from the countries of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Their debut concert took place during Jan Risberg’s Contemporary Music festival in 2004 with world premieres of Per Magnusson and Kuulta L. Aapinen. The same year the ensemble gave conerts at the contemporary music scene Fylkingen and Kulturhuset in Stockholm during the contemporary music festival Hör Upp!. The performance was broadcasted on Swedish Radio P2.
In 2005 Nordic Fusion6 went on tour in Norway were they gave concerts in Trondheim and Tromsø. The tour was funded by Contemporary Music Trondheim and Contemporary Music Hålogaland. On this tour the world premiere of Canticles III by Wolfgang Plagge took place. The composition was commissioned for the celebration in 2005 of the friendly break of the union between Sweden and Norway 100 years earlier. The collaboration with Plagge led to a workshop about his music at the Conservatory of Music in Tromsø.
In December 2007 Nordic Fusion6 gave the first performance of their project The Concert, an open form, at the Premiere club in Västerås Concert hall. The Concert, an open form is the result of a long-lasting collaboration between Nordic Fusion6 and the Swedish composer Christofer Elgh.
In January 2008 Northern Fusion6 also performed The Concert, an open form at Fylkingen and at the Northern Light Festival in Tromsø, Norway. At the Northern Light Festival they also gave the world premiere of Jesper Nordin’s composition Archive:Lights. The composition was based upon the theme of 2008 festival: Movement.
