Hey all. Hoping to post music soon, post my website, and shop my demo around. I want to begin looking for musicians too. So if you know of anyone who is interested in playing pop rock/alternitive music, send 'em my way. I'm in the process of many things, which I am also hoping to get accomplished in the near future. Music is a journey. I am definitely on a journey. Thank You. check me out on: www.marylovins.com or myspace.com/marylovins.** Mary Lovins Biography **Born & raised, I don't really want to say, but I consider myself more from Los Angeles. My family, parents and grandparents orginally being from LA; which is where my family history mainly comes through with art & music. I will forever in my heart be a LA girl. I started singing around the age 4 or 5. I just liked singing. When I was around 12, started to write my own poetry, writing just came naturally to me. Felt like my hands were just the tool, like I was being fed the words. In college, I began songwriting as well as pursuing the accoustic guitar while playing the viola since the age of 12. Although attaining a degree in fine arts of graphic design, there was something still eating at me. My dream. I moved to Los Angeles to go where things were happening. Recorded a few singles, made some contacts and did some networking. Began singing open mic in Hollywood to help me with my nerves in singing in front of other people. After living in LA for about 4 years, I decided it was time for a change. I quite my job, left my apartment and made the brave move to Sanfrancisco, with out knowing where I was going to live, I didn't have a job, and had Some money saved up. Starting out in LA was tough, but never as tough as I'd thought it be in Sanfrancisco. I hope that I'll never have to go through that experience again. Arriving in Sanfrancisco, I landed my first couple of gigs at Rocking Java Cafe. I hope to have many more to come, in hopes of searching for my band members; I really hope you are out there and the right people will come my way. There's so much about my life I could tell people. People always ask me, "So tell me a little about yourself." I ask them back, "Where would you like me to start?" My mother is my inspiration. She is the reason why I live, why I breathe. She always taught me to be brave enough to be myself, that it was okay to not be like anybody else; to not let others determine who you're going to be or what you do with your life; it should be your choice. She's the one who helped me to have the courage to be brave enough to go for my dream. After her passing, music was & still is the Only thing that helps me get through each day, with out my music I don't know that I would have made it through everything. I hope my music speaks to you in the same way it speaks to me.
