The Sustainable Scoop

About Me

The Sustainable Scoop is a resourceful blog where you can learn how to lead a more sustainable life. Read product reviews, get info on which companies are doing it right, and more, at The Sustainable Scoop .
I started The Sustainable Scoop in July of 2006 to solve a problem I'd seen while working from within the organic foods industry, which is this: Sometimes the information that consumers get is muddled by who has the most money. Another problem most consumers face is a shortage of time. Who has the time to spend hours on the internet and making phone calls in order to educate themselves?
As it turns out, I do. I also have a lot of knowledge about the practices of different companies that I gained while working with them. I travel to trade shows, which keeps me in the loop about what's going on, so I make sure the information I'm providing is fresh.
I'm also a consumer myself. I know a lot about various products on the market because I've bought them and tried them out. I can walk into the cereal aisle at a Whole Foods and pick out the best of what's there, and I can tell you exactly why. This is the kind of stuff I write about, because what else do you do with that kind of knowledge?
The Sustainable Scoop is full of product reviews, company write-ups, interviews, recipes, rants, vendettas, and all sorts of other shenanigans. I do my best to make it funny, too, because who wants to read about whether a shampoo contains SLS or not unless it's entertaining? So I hope you enjoy the site, it's probably my favorite thing I've ever done. Check it out!
