About Me

Song for SOL installation. Collaborative work: Itta (Korea), Alma Laprida (Argentina), Koichi Shimizu (Japan), Dario Elia (Italy), Orkun Tuzel (Turkey)."As composer, musician and singer, I usually move in two territories: the song-based material, where voice and rhythm section play a very important role, and the sound installation-based material, where voice and rhythm section are absent or almost absent. In both cases, the use of loops and of natural processed sounds is recurrent. My song-based material often deconstructs the song format. But there is no plan to defy the laws of convention, it is just a spontaneous process strictly linked to my music experiences and influences that were primarily not song-based. In these works, multilingual lyrics play an important role and they are a completely natural reflex of my life. I was living and travelling in many countries in the last ten years. This had, and has, an evident influence on my life. I guess this is the main reason why I wrote part of the lyrics in so many languages. My sound installations are often conceived as a part of photographic exhibitions or audiovisual installations. A sound installation is generally site-specific, but personally I would say that it is above all time-specific and action-specific. The temporal context and the actions involved during art creation and art fruition become the essence of a sound installation. In these works, music is never thought as a representation or as a narrative instrument. I am interested in what I can perceive as 'disvelante', unveiling. Art does not need to mean, but it must be unveiling. As producer, I am part of a music production house called Vesnahaus and I am currently mastering my first solo album. As photographer, my works were part of some international exhibition of photographic art (such as Maitland, Australia and Zaragoza, Spain). I am currently working on my new personal exhibition. As curator and director of The Mediterranean Foundation for Art, I organized several international biennial events of photographic art, called Biennale d'Arte Fotografica del Mediterraneo, promoting ang hosting several artists from all around the world."ABOUT THE TRACKS: 'Tre anime', 'Soutirée à la lune' and 'Fra noi' are premaster versions of tracks that will be very soon available in an album; 'Sound installation 1' is actually just a single track extracted from a photographic sound installation. real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
