Let me first thank you for taking a stop by my page. I have been on myspace for a minute and can say that I have met some very interesting people, Some I have shared business relationships with others and looking forward to meeting many more. I was born and raised in Baltimore, I have lived quite a few places and done a lot of traveling but always come back to here because it is home like it or not. I have touched every state with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska and cannot wait to visit them both. I have travel as far as Japan and looking forward to going back again. It has been more than 15 years since I have visited and would expect that a lot of things have change over time. Cant wait!! I have shot for several magazines, various publications, you may have seen me on occasion at the local night spot. My pictures are all over myspace.
As you can clearly see I am a photographer and graphic artist. I will let you judge my skills I take all critiques good or bad. I learn everyday and cultivate my craft every time I pick up my camera, sit in front of my computer or doodle on a piece of paper. Let me know what you don’t like I will make it better. Let me know what you do like and I will make it even better. I am a perfectionist and I look for the perfect shot everyday, knowing in the back of my mind it will never be found. No picture is ever perfect for me. I compare my work to no one else but mine; I am humble in my craft and admire everybody’s work and skill level. (At least they try… what are you doing?) My dad was a master photographer so as you can see it is in my blood. I still to this day have yet to retain as much knowledge as he. I pick his brain constantly. He tells me that I have surpassed him in many ways but I don’t agree. I have yet to reach his status and that to me is my greatest motivation. I still look at photos that he took when I was a lot younger for inspiration.
Other folks who inspire me… David Lachapelle, John Waters, I like trash in every sense of the word. Not porn but trash. I like to shock and amaze. I have never been one for conventionality, never look for the norm. Step out of the box, get out of your comfort zone and have fun. It makes me enjoy it even more. I grew up watching John Waters’s movies with my aunt and I have been hooked ever since. If you have seen any of his old photographs they are just as wild if not more interesting than his movies. I am a big fan of David Lachapelle, I think that his work speaks volumes of creativity and really make you think about a lot of things. Every photo tells a story. Non creatives get it twisted when looking at some of his images. Look beyond the obvious and look for the message. It requires some thought. Gordon Parks was a master at capturing the personality and telling a story about any of his subjects that he photographed.
I think that I have said enough. This is my profession and not a hobby. I have a studio and spend multiples of dollars each year to hone my craft. I love all people, but remember business is exactly what it is… business. You need to eat as well as me.
But I will leave you with this. I am always looking for unique faces to shoot. Not just models or pretty faces. I see things for what they can be, not what they are. I am turned on by creativity and when it becomes reality I can really get excited. That’s what creative do. I am always open for ideas and creative projects to work on.
