About Me

A Glimpse of Who I Am

Aloha, I'm Jheneya. Some of you know me as Lei. I’m an independent woman just trying to make my mark in this world. Depending on who you ask, I can be either shy and reserved, or out-going and silly. As much as I hate to admit it, I can also be a very complicated person. I hate drama, but lately it seems to be following me.
Life is too short to be bitter, fake, superficial, or unproductive. Just live it up!
Career: After earning my bachelor's degree in journalism and political science, I found myself working as an underwriter in Downtown Honolulu. People always ask me what an underwriter is...in a nutshell, my job is to assess risks for an insurance company. It's kind of a weird gig, but I actually like it.
Family: I’ve yet to settle down, but I hope to marry Mr. Right and have kids one day. We’ll see…

Interests

Loves: My family and friends, dancing hula and Tahitian, exploring unknown places, daydreaming, long massages, starry nights, ghost stories, thunder storms, and I’m a sucker for a beautiful smile.
Dislikes: Violence, poverty, traffic, judgmental a-holes, inconsiderate drivers, and crowded parking lots.

Basics

LOCATION: Under a coconut tree
HOMETOWN: Makaha
AGE: 27
STATUS: In a relationship
HERE FOR: Friends XOXO

Ghostly experience

So...I just had the weirdest experience last night.  It was about 3 a.m. when I finally went to bed.  I couldn't sleep though - my body was exhausted, but ...

Haleiwa...from my perspective

This is an excerpt from a story I wrote in one of my journalism classes while attending college.  The original article was a lot longer, but I decided to forgo the snooze...
