Throughout his childhood and adolescence, Travis would continue to analyze and write stories and poems from deep, metaphoric, unorthodox perspectives. He began to notice that his no holds-barred, eloquent, convicting, commanding speech caused many people to listen to him for advice, counsel, jokes, and warnings.Convinced by God through a vision in the summer of 2000 before his freshman year of college that he would be speaking powerfully on college campuses, churches, open mic venues, etc, Travis began to write poems that cut deep into the soul through the power of the Holy Ghost. He officially ministered his first spoken word piece in the fall of 2002, and has steadily grown into a sincere, persuasive, prophetic minister of the gospel through poetry, winning and placing in countless slam tournaments.As Travis grew deeper and stronger in the Word of God and more skillful in the craft of poetry, the Lord laid it upon his heart to officially found the ministry, Poetic Persuasions, Inc. that He originally spoke into his existence in 2000. On August 14, 2006, Poetic Persuasions, Inc. was formed.God truly has stood by his side and empowered him to complete his mission to persuade people to the infinite love of Christ through poetry. By obtaining favor with God and men, both saved and unsaved, he will win souls, and bring healing to the hearts of dying men.
