Savoring the marrow of the muse- art, music, literature, culture, languages, travel- these are the foods of my life, along withSports and fitness- football (soccer for the U.S. domiciled), martial arts- Aikido, shito-ryu, goshin-do, iaido, jiu-jitsu, yoga. DC United and FC Bayern. The outdoors- camping, hiking, pedaling and paddling. And of course, fine spirits- especially single malts, red wines and weissbier.
People with a point of view and something to say.Happy to be your friend, but hey, at least have a Blog posting or two and some other reason to contact me besides trying to sell me some crap- be it Myspace layouts, multi-level marketing B.S., investment scams, Real Estate, porn or any of the other dreck that makes this site such a drag at times...Otherwise, partial to free-thinkers, poets, painters and potters, minstrals and mirth-makers, eccentrics and eclectics, hedonists and heretics, rebels one and all - in other words, those with highly-evolved world views. Always up for fun and frolic in and around the DC area.
Really way too many to even try and list, but one of the main reasons I am here. Basically, I listen to and can appreciate most anything, depending on my mood. My 18 year old producer-to-be son keeps me current. My main rotation is deep into the blues. Muddy-BB-John Lee-Buddy-Son House-Elmore-Howlin' Wolf- Monk-Miles-Mingus-'trane-James Cotton-Cassandra Wilson-Shemeika Copeland-Etta James-Koko Taylor. Also a mix of other old and new, with a tendency towards the bad boy/girl stuff: Richard Thompson-Lou Reed-Bowie. Kinks-Who-Pretenders-Clash-The Jam-Ramones-Talking Heads-T-Rex-NY Dolls. Johnny Cash-Woody Guthrie. Recent shows have included Sisters of Mercy (Eldrich only), Bonnie Raitt, Billy Corgan with Doris Henson, an homage to Buddy Guy's place in Chicago for couple of local acts, Live, with Lake Trout, Ebo and Sonic Cult, Foo Fighters, Buddy Guy, BB King, the Pixies reunion tour, Rickie Lee Jones.
Again, too many to list...

My old man. No one else even comes close, with the possible exception of the men and women of the FDNY & NYPD. Dad taught me a lot- but above all, keep your head up, keep smilin', look for the good in everyone and keep on fightin' no matter what they tell you the odds are. WTF do the oddsmakers know anyway? :-)
