Mandingo

-Born in Italy (9-11-1973) from Ivorian father and Iatalian mother.He spends almost all his life in Italy with his family and his “little sister” Diana included. -When he was 7 years old ,already the first unluky musical meeting with the piano…He will tray again 8 years later with the guitar…and it was really not bad !!!
-In 1998, he met during his civil service,the big musician and producer Francesco Petrocchi (with the band –East Side Beat- : Ride like the wind,Disco fever,Celebretion…).It was the first time for Mandingo,in a Recording studio,havin’ session,recording,…
-Between 1999-2002 with Dj Lino and than with Cristiano Ferracuti,he will form the band called “Dust People” (Elettro.,d’n’b,Break Beat,Crossover,…). -2002-2003.Mandingo (at that time “puntoxxx”) was executive producer and partner by Pablo Oze (Mc and Italian Underground Hip Hop producer) ;together they realized the album “Brutti Affari” .1 in Vitaminic Hip Hop Charts for 4 months!
- 2003-2004-Mandingo decides to have a break as a producer spending his time to follow the live concerts backstage with two his old friends, experienced in “audio and lights service”:Roberto Vignola e Moreno Malaisi.
-Between 2004-2005 he created his recording studio in Italy and is first CD “Robha’ sunday session”,as producer ,musician and singer.Than in the followin’ spring, he realized the music show in one episode called “La leggenda dei tre Samurai”.Guest stars:Tony Santos,Manuela Recchi,Michela Fossà,Gil Banana,P.Schekerè,Doriano Marcucci,Stefano Conforti,Amedeo Grifoni ,stage design by Ulla Pagliariccio and tecn.resp. Mirko Tocchetto. A bit of time before the show ,he met the famous Italian didge player Papi Moreno and in the same year Mandingo,left his country for a voluntary mission in Tanzania with the unluky African children.
-In 2006 deep and full immersion in Didgeridoo studing,diatonic chant and meditation thecnics.6 months in Australia(5 months at Darwin).He performed playin’ Didgeridoo together Ann Harcaine(afro percussionist) at “10th India Mindill beach” .He met and he became a Mark Hoffman’s friend(EMDEE).He performed again with Ann H. at the Aborigenal comunity in Gunbalunya in Arnhem Land.
-2006-2007-After his last performance in Italy at the teather with Ruben Ferrigni (Djembè) and Edoardo Grisogani (drums) ,Mandingo left again his country for the Switzerlaand.Swizzeridoo 2007,Australia Wochenende 2007,and and all the rest of the news you can get them,just visiting my web site.
ABOUT MANDINGO…
Manndingo is the name of an African ethnic group who was located in a big area of West Africa, exactly in the land of the Kingdom of Mali. In particular, under the Keyta dynasty (Sundyata Keyta 1230-1255),the Mandingo people had the best times of ever, leaving in harmony, and respecting their balances. But now, the history of this people is just a sad crime news page, coloured by capitalism without rules, wild imperialism and economical inequity. Ligue Denis Michel , alias MANDINGO, in his life is didjeridoo player and a musician; specially by the didjeridoo he wants to take with him the responsibility to spread a message of tolerance, cultural interconnection and mutual respect ! By half blood , Ligue Denis Michel is really Mandingo because his father (Ligue Denis Bay) is an Ivorian man and exactly the Ivory Coast, with Guinea, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Sierra Lion, Senegal and Mali of course, formed the big area of the Mandingo kingdom. Born and grooved in Italy, Ligue Denis Michel decides to take to heart the Ivorian situation, as a consequence of grooving hate, intolerance, ethnic divisions and violence inner the Ivorian population ! Ending, MANDINGO is overall a human recalling to take care of the unity of all the people in the name of music and culture as our “Mama Africa” teaches to us, but warning , because you can see “the Lion” tired to be “the King “ in a forgotten Land !!!
