WHAT CAN I SAY, SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE THIS ON MY DAYS OFF. WHERE DID I GO WROOOONG?For a long time I avoided writing about myself on this till I got many emails from friends who say that I should tell my history. So here it is you guys. I grew up in Compton, California. After the Watts riot, my parents moved us to Lakewood, Ca. which was a safe place to grow up. When I was 13 my cousins came to ask my parents if I could go with them to a concert and that we would be gone for about two weeks. My parents agreed and off we went. It was Woodstock. I saw first hand what free Love was, weed, flower childs and so on. I got to meet most of the bands that played there like Little Joe, Jimmy Hindrix and many more. At that time, I had no idea who they were but never the less, it was fun for me. Before I turned 16, my cousins had taken me to so many concerts, I got to see The Doors, Can Heat, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd and many more. At 16, I saw Nixon on TV and he was telling the nation that we were pulling our troops out of Vet Nam so I asked my dad that I wanted to enlist in the Military. He told me not till I finish High school so to his suprise I took the test so that I can Graduate early. At 17 I was on my way to boot camp at Ft. Jackson. SC. I was still 17 when I went into the Q course which is the Special Forces training. By the time I had graduated from the Q course, I had just turned 18 and was already sniper trained, explosive Tec, weapons Spec, Jump qualifed and warfare Tac. I had already seen a little combat by the time I was stationed in Germany in the late 70's. While stationed in Germany I made many friends, back packed thoughout Europe and while I was back packing it I met some guys who seemed pretty cool and I hung out with them for three days. Later I found out that I was partying with a few members of the infumous "Red Brigade". Who knew? Well, Interpol knew! Thank God I never told them what I did for a living. Boy, did I get in trouble though. I came back to the States in Feb of 83 which was not a good year. I was sent to Grenada with my unit which is where I lost my first friend. After that, because I could speak spanish, I was sent to Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Hot spots at that time. After that, I was brought back to the States which I was placed at the White House. I had the honor to work for President Reagan for two years. After my time was up at the White house, I was sent back to Ft. Bragg, NC. which I was sent back to Germany. After sometime later, I became an instructor at the JFK Warfare center. I was teaching physiological warfare. One day I recieved a phone call from a friend who was stationed in Germany and told me that I should be on the first flight to Germany, so I did. That night I witnessed the Berlin Wall come down. To think that a few years back I was armed to the teeth and on patrol by that wall. By the time I had retired from the Military, I had met Nixon, Ford, Carter and Bush. Traveled the world over, ran with the bulls in Spain, got as far as Everest camp 3 (23,621ft) at Mt. Everest, been to the jungles of the Amazon, had been in and seen much combat, taken a few lives and lost a few friends, I have seen things that I still can't explain to this day. I've been to places where history was taking place at that moment and so far it was a great 20 years. When I finaly came back home, I became a paramedic for LA county. It was great cause I was now saving lifes instead of taking them. It was short lived when I was injured on the job. Then one day I got a phone call from a old friend of mine. He was with the Seals when we first met. Well, he was now a Military adviser on a movie and needed my "opion" on a movie called "Black hawk down" only because I was there. I made a few dollers on that one and was involved in a few others. After a while, I thought that I was going to be really involved in the movie industry till I found my calling which was flying helicopters. One day my friend was telling me about how my life was overwhelming to many and while we were talking I received a phone call. I was told that President Reagan had passed and that I was to report in and to escort him from California to DC. He was my friend and everytime I quote "my old wise friend once told me" that was him. My father is my Hero, best friend but Ronnie was my mentor. In the two years that I was there at the White house, I had learned a lot from him. My old wise friend once told me, to lose is to fail but to fail is to learn from it. PEACE!!!!
