As one of the first Decepticons built, Soundwave was a loyal follower to Megatron. Soundwave is a master of espionage and his personality is cold, calculating and to the point. He was on Megatron's ship "The Nemesis" when it attacked the Ark, like all of the Transformers who were on the Ark when it crashed, he went into stasis lock until the year 1984 when he was rebuilt into a portable tape player. Soundwave also had "assistants" inside of him who were rebuilt into Earth style machines/cassette tapes. Soundwave never really had any stories that stuck out for him, but he was constantly a loyal soldier to Megatron. After Megatron was on his death bed from his final fight with Optimus Prime, Soundwave tried to get the position of Decepticon Leader. He lost, but he did survive until the end of the Transformers Cartoon, resuming his loyalty to Galvatron
