Hi, my name is Shane. I think my mom actually named me that after the character in that old western movie. ;) Anyway, I thought I would give this MySpace thing a try and see if I can make a few new online friends. So here goes.My favorite hobby is crafting these little wooden treasure boxes. It's all done completely by hand and without using conventional woodworking tools. The custom parts are all cut and shaped using such improvised tools as nail clippers, razor blades and emery boards. The surfaces are smoothed, stained and lacquered. The external surfaces are decorated with raised, accented geometric finish work. All the moving parts like hinges and drawers and rolling desktops really do work. It takes me quite a while and a lot of patience to do them. But I really enjoy it. I've given them to some of my relatives and they seem to really
like them, so I tried to sell a couple of them on Ebay, but that didn't work out too well. So I guess my relatives might end up with lots of them. LOL!Anyway, here are a couple examples.
