Welcome to PlumbJam 2. The annex of PlumbJam, think of this page as the extension we had to build on the back of the house because the family got to big. Click on the PlumbJam studios teleport button to hear our other tracks. Who am I, I am Ian Brown A 37 year old musician who is lucky enough to spend a fair amount of time creating music with a one Keith Twidale. A talented writer, producer and rock god drummer in the band No strings and also editor of Plumb jam studios page 1 I thought I would start the ball rolling and open the new page with a bit of a blog. Now if you are looking for intelligent, political based dialogue with depth and meaning you had better wait for Keith’s next baby if on the other hand you have slightly less volume to your bowl then maybe I will suffice. A year ago quit by accident I mentioned to Keith’s good lady wife that I play the piano and she invited me to meet the old man. So I duly turned up equipped with mobile ivories and we had a jam, and from that moment we knew we were destined for great things (I also play my own trumpet as well). No seriously though as song writers we are all like little islands Keith stuck on an island with his drums me with my piano, every now and then the good ship Lee sails past with his guitar but writing a good song is not the same as arranging a good song. Lots of people write music but if you are lucky enough to be able to call on good musicians then your music comes to life. I have been song writing for nearly two decades but only in the last year have I had to the opportunity to bring my music to satisfactory conclusion thanks to Keith and Lee. It does not matter how good you are with a drum machine or how many fruity loops you are in possession of nothing compares to wheeling out the old drummer, lighting the blue touch paper and retreating to a safe distance while they explode with paraddidles or what ever they are called. In one short year we managed to put together and albums worth of music bearing in mind that we both work full time and have familys and Keith drums in Nostrings we thought it a pretty good achievement and so far we have had some encouraging feedback from our original material. Also in that year we have pretty much built a studio from scratch mastered Cubase and spent hours and hours working on recording techniques so all in all we are pretty smug about 2007. Well what will the next year hold in store, well loads more original material in the pipe line maybe one or two covers for good measure and our ever continuing quest for recording perfection, oh and hopefully an upgrade to Cubase 4.
