About Me
Born & raised on the Southwest side of Los Angeles, Cash started off as a graffitti artist with a crew known as K2S (Kill 2 Sexseed). He was influenced by such artists as Prime, Kangol 3, Dyne & many others. Bombin' on walls from Cal State LA to Venice Beach, Ca, his name was hit up everywhere that the bus would carry him. He then made the transition from Graffitti Artist to DJ as an intern DJ on L.A's first Hip Hop radio station, 1580 KDAY. After 5 years of mastering the wheels of steel, Cash Phlow decided to develope his skills as an emcee. This is when he decided to pick up the name "Phlow" cause he was told that he had a nice flow.In 1991, Cash Phlow started a public access Hip Hop show called, "Funky E'nuff" which two years later became, "Non Stop Hip Hop" on Buena Vision cable in East Los Angeles. In 1993, Cash Phlow then joined a group called Brown Town. The group consisted of to rappers named Citric & Shotgun with DJ Clear on the tables. As Cash Phlow entered the group, Shotgun went on to pusue his own solo projects. From there Brown Town added "Looters" to the name in memory of the L.A. uprising that occurred in & around the members homes. They released a single called, "Dope House In the Ghetto" which did well in the underground. When 1995 rolled around, the group met with Future Entertainment after which the group was seen in various magazines such as, High Times, The Source, URB, Rap Pages, Lowrider, Street Customs and many others. With this new found exposure, they created Hemp Town Records which was created to manufacture cassettes & CD's of Brown Town Looters next album entitled "Koncrete Phunk". All they needed was a distribution for the new album. Unfortunately due to Future Entertainment's mismanagement & lack of knowledge of the business, this never happened. After this, Cash Phlow & Citric returned to Buena Vision & hooked up with DJ Ray of, "Cruizin' With La Raza". DJ Ray asked Cash & Citric to host his show in East L.A while DJ Ray hosted the show in Arizona. This arrangement allowed greater exposure while allowing them to perform at various car shows throughout the mid west. Brown Town Looters were also seen performing at various Lowrider events around the country with such artists as Ice Cube, Zapp & Roger, Coolio, Ice T, & many others. While touring around the country, Cash & Citric started up a show called, "Undaground Flava" on Buena Vision Cable in East Los Angeles. The show was on for 4 years & the most successful show the station had ever aired. In 1996, Cash Phlow & Citric left the show to start their own show called,
"Underground Flava" which consisted of Hip Hop video's & interviews with guests such as, Cypress Hill, WC, Doveshack, Mellow Man Ace, Delinquent Habits & many others. At the same time they were performing with such artists as Ice T, Frost, Hi C, Mack 10, Zapp/ Roger Troutman (RIP), Coolio, WC & many others. This same year they released a song called, "Noisy Minorities" which was featured on the "Definition of Brown Vol.1" compilation, a product of Greenside Records. In 1997 after 5 years of recording, touring & producing, Cash Phlow decided to pursue his own solo indeavors. He then hooked up with DJ Bubba & Products of Insanity to record a whole new style & West Coast sound in which they created two hit songs called, "40 & a Blunt" & "Soar Like a Bird".
Cash Phlow started performing with such artists as, DJ Quik, Rakim, Tha Alkaholiks, Too Short, Suga Free, Cypress Hill, E 40 & many more. The show ran for 5 years bringin' you the best underground Hip Hop. But all good things must come 2 an end & so did The Hip Hop Show. This now gave Cash Phlow plenty of time 2 work on his music because the show was taking up most of his time. So he returned to the scene doing various show throughout the south west in cities like, L.A., Las Vegas, Rosarito-Mexico, Hollywood, Phoenix-Arizona, Oxnard, Santa Barbra & many other locations.
