Grass Roots Entertainment is a premier stop in Oakland for artists looking for platinum selling production, development, video production and management from one of the leaders in R&Bs newest sibling Neo-Soul. It started as a traditional Victorian house in Oaklands West Side nevertheless D'Wayne Wiggins saw more for it. With a vision, some money and a goal to create a music based entertainment haven, he designed and created the House of Music. This elegantly renovated Victorian holds the corporate offices of Grass Roots Entertainment as well as a full-production studio with an atmosphere to engage visiting artists in their creative process. Each room has its own theme, the halls are adorned with African Arts, oriental rugs, photos of 70s music icons as well as musical instruments throughout that bring the house together to emerge you in the energy of musical creation. House of Music is now one of Oaklands most sought after production facilities.

Grass Roots Entertainment was established in 1995, when Wiggins decided to form a solid, structured, and well-oiled hit-making machine. According to Wiggins, the company was created out of a desire to produce artists and music using the winning formula which made Tony Toni Toné a stand-out group during the past 10 years: "create a unique sound and image and continually bring quality music created by actual musicians to mass audiences." By adding a comprehensive artist development program and broad music industry experience, Grass Roots is taking this formula a step further.
As a production company, Grass Roots Entertainment has produced artists like Jody Watley, Tevin Campbell, Karyn White, Too Short, Lighter Shade of Brown, E-40, Richie Rich, and most recently, Destiny's Child, India Arie, and Alicia Keys. In addition to music, Grass Roots has a new focus in producing content driven, urban independent films.
