Ian & The Muscletones

About Me

Ian Dunlop, Artist, musician and pursuer of alternative expression, was a founder member of the International Submarine Band, the original Flying Burrito Brothers while working with Gram Parsons in New York and L.A. (‘65-’68)
After leaving the USA Ian continued his friendship with Gram Parsons until the singers death.
Earlier, Ian fronted ‘The Refugees’ (based on Cape Cod, Mass.) that became a well known band on the college, fraternity circuit.
When one of the band members was old enough to drive a car, the Refugees often opened up for classic acts- the Shirelles, Roy Orbison, the Crystals, etc in the early 1960s.
In 1980, now living in the west of England, Ian put together ‘the Muscletones’ and released an Lp for an Indie label. The Muscletones gigged and recorded in ‘81-’83.
Ian Dunlop lives in Cornwall, England and is dedicated to inventing original and alternative art work.
