Kill Two Birds

About Me

Kill Two Birds sound is best described as a cocktail of eclectic grunge rock spiked with a pop sedative. The journey began in the outer suburbs of Melbourne on Saturday afternoons in the garage. Not content with imitating their idols, the band quickly developed their own sound, debuting in backyards and at parties. Enter the Melbourne scene playing under the name 'illumni' where the band saw their suburban garage rock sound evolve as the band strived towards passionate performance and quality songwriting. 2 EP’s (Best of Vol 1, 2005; Self Titled, 2007) were released and saw the band establish a passionate and loyal fanbase and also helped them cement a respectful position in the local underground scene, selling out of their limited runs and seeing them support the likes of Cog. In 2009 'illumni' became Kill Two Birds as they worked towards recording their next major release. The yet to be titled EP is planned for launch in Sept/October and a tour of regional and interstate venues, along with NZ is in the works.'Great songs and riffs. The crowd were down the front, singing along, punching the air...’‘The music was slickly structured punk/rock/grunge, with nice soloing and strong builds. Professionalism abounded in their transitions from track to track, and they even got the crowd moshing .... Illumni were my pick of the night – they'll go far....
