Roots Reggae Dub music and Sound System Culture have always been “underground” in their orthodox form, but despite that ,they have influenced mostly all contemporary music: from the idea of remix ‘till Rap & Hip Hop,laying the foundation of Jungle,D+B,Trip Hop,2step,Garage and in general all new digital music. Hailing from a little village in the Alps, KDW has been one of the leading Roots&Dub Sound System in Europe on the road since 1999 until the nye of 2005 when they played the last dance in Bologna. 18kw handcraft system built in the traditional style , having its root in the Jamaican school of King Tubbys, KDW was made with the purpose of express at best Roots&Dub Reggae music ,to come with uplifting words and chanting from the Mcs and singers of the crew ,creating with the massive a physical and spiritual x-perience. The crew was large and everyone contributed to create what KDW was: my beloved brother Reda,Andrea King Bee, Ale&Tiziana Kaya, Sandro Benidub, Captain Midnight (R.I.P.), Mr.Faith, Max & Borg Disinformat, the Youth, Sis Zaiwa, Dub Student, Darioxf. We worked with many of the best singers and mcs from Uk as Oxman, Ras Iyah, Danny Red, Brother Culture, Ramon Judah, Sister Rasheda. KDW played more than 250 gigs in all the “hottest” italian yards&festivals as well as gigs abroad including Switzerland,Germany,Croatia, France etc.… KDW helded a montly residency called Roots Attack in the heart of Rome and had a regular montly spot in Milan at Pergolatribe.Since its foundation KDW has supported the cream of crops of the Uk sound system scene, sounds like Jah Shaka, Jah Tubbys,Aba-Shanti,Channel One,A&O,Iration Steppas,Jah Youth,Manasseh,Fairshare Unity, King Shiloh,…just to name a few! as well as artists like Souljazz djs’, Dub Vendor, Sly & Robbie, Dub Syndicate, Daddy G, Congo Natty, Jungle Brothers, Spiral Tribe...KDW was a wonderful hardcore life x-perience that we will never forget and we would like to thanks all the people that been to KDW dances and all the people that supported it...too many to mentions but you know who you are!One Love King David Warriors crew www.kdwarriors.tk
