About Me

I like to write, sing, play music, and hang with friends. The writing part can get lonely without the rest. And nothing is more alive than the spirit of music. Playing in a band is the most fun you can have standing up with your clothes on. But I'm into the literary thing, too. And not just for the wine and cheese, the lavish parties I don't attend, and assorted and various snob appeal. It happens, though, that through hard work and dedication, I'm in charge of the writer's workshop on Chuck Palahniuk's official website.
Chuck, in case you've been living in a cave in camel country, he wrote a book called Fight Club that became a cult classic film in the late 90's. Only nine years later (wow) they're finally making a second Chuck Palahniuk book into a film. Choke is getting produced right now. And most of the others have been optioned. Anyway, running the workshop on Chuck's site, and setting up creative writing classes as part of our Master's Program... that's what I've been doing since I came through college in philosophy, English Lit, and creative writing. Check us out at chuckpalahniuk.net.
And check out the trailer for Choke.
When I was 24 years old, a woman with proven and uncanny perceptive abilities--a bit like "the Oracle" in the Matrix--she told me I'd be awesome at 40. Not arrogant, not filled with a false image of myself, but a good man finally coming into his own, through hard work, persistence, dedication, self-knowledge, kindness, and talent. I'm still training up for it.
She also told me: "Your voice will definitely be heard."
If you're here on my page, I hope you're on a good path of your own. And I trust there's a reason you're reading this far. Maybe our paths will converge. Maybe they've already crossed, but in a time of turbulence, indifference, distraction, or ill-timing. Human beings are always in a state of becoming and so seldom are we able to support each other in the best or most deserving ways. Each of us is becoming more or less of who we are every day--realizing potential, or squandering our gifts. We become less through abandonment, addiction, and self-absorption. We become more through awareness, generosity, and expansion.
Let's grow together in peace as we cultivate and share those gifts along with the time that we've been given.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Bono, Salman Rushdie, David Bowie, Wim Wenders, Billy Bob Thornton, Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, Winona Ryder... and lots of other great and talented people who just aren't all that famous.

Chucky P. I've met, of course, but always under kind of stressful and rushed circumstances. It would be cool to hang out with him sometime in a way that's a little more relaxed.
