- revideolized -

Here inside Salt Lake Valley lives a twenty-one year old male musician who has passion to create, transpire, and intrigue listeners with the music project that he has kept going since 2003. Since then, something called and beckoned this young man who goes by “The Rose Phantomâ€, to create instrumental and classical songs that would somehow move people with its “journey-like†sounds. Perhaps persuade listeners to dream and fall into the depths of his music. This project would be unlike anything else.
Revideolized is a music project that consists of only one musician. The Rose Phantom himself always had a calling inside his music driven heart to lay his fingers on keyboards. Bands such as Depeche Mode and Tears for Fears inspired him and still continue to inspire him to make music with the key ingredient being an underlying atmosphere. The Rose Phantom believes that with every piece of music you hear, a kind of atmosphere is created. His dream was to create an atmosphere for listeners to visit and in a way be taken on a journey.
Revideolized was the first word thought of as The Rose Phantom searched for a name for his music that is described as new-age darkwave. The name was inspired by the imaginations of The Rose Phantom and a friend who started re-creating music videos that already existed, but changing the a video into their own version. A clever way of wording their own version of the music videos would be something like a “re-videolized†invention. The name revideolized seemed to stick around for sometime.
Creating electronic and piano music that carries an atmosphere burns deep inside this musicians heart. Since the beginning, he knew he had to make music to allow others to feel and hear what he wanted to hear. Music that could take people on a far away journey inside the land of imagination…or a dare to escape reality.
Revideolized (spelled with a lower case r) is driven by keys, mainly synthesizers, keyboards, and in future revideolized songs percussion and guitar is used. With the involvement of these instruments put together, not a single voice would be heard on The Rose Phantom’s set of songs he had written. These set of songs written between the years 03’-05’ eventually were re-recorded within three months and debuted on the first self-titled album, revideolized.
Songs with titles such as: The Fortress, Atmospheric, and Fallen Leaves are composed of layers of melodies that are layered over drum tracks and beats. The melodies are similar to vocal melodies, but instead are keyboard melodies. Through out the songs that The Rose Phantom composes, different sound samples are taken from various subjects such as hammer hitting a sheet of metal, or the sound of a quarter hitting the ground. All the sounds that are compiled on top of one another are thought out thoroughly and each comes as separate idea from deep inside The Rose Phantom‘s imagination.
After compiling the first album together that would set off as a foundation for The Rose Phantom, it wasn’t about to stop there.
Working on new material and allowing others to hear what has been created has always been the main objective and reasoning to keep going for The Rose Phantom.
A few months after releasing the first album, work began on the second and would have the approach of being more vivid, intense, and powerful than the first. If the first album embraced too much dance and nativity, the second album would provide greater immensity and an even deeper journey that would be “too deep for dreams.â€
The Moon Driven Dark is the name of the second album and has altogether been a total different approach from the first.
Recorded in three months, The Moon Driven Dark plays on a fresh new arrangement that consists of guitars, percussion, and even more deeper instrumental keyboard sounds than the first. A whole new approach has been laid out for TheMooNDriveNDark album.
July 2007 the work on a new album begins. Going into his home studio with the craving of more atmosphere needing to be captured. This album will have no rules, it can be whatever it turns out to be. 'Look-In' is the title, and it was released December 8th 2007. The Rose Phantom feels this is his best work to date!
