About Me

NEW PLEASE READ! 10/03/2009: im offering $100 out of my first paycheck to ANYONE who refers me to ANY PLACE thats hiring! (provided i get the job of course!) I will right out a real contract and have it notarized in front of you plus ill give you my home address SO you can sue me AND hire a hitman to blow me away if i dont pay up! i have over 15 years of customer service, sales and retail experience but i will accept any minimum wage position at this stage of the game plus i will help you out in any other way i possibly can! (mow your lawn, rub your back, help you move..whatever you need!) my only real preference is for something close to me in the valley (sherman oaks, encino, studio city, chatsworth, northridge, arleta, van nuys, canoga park, thousand oaks etc etc.) i desperatley need to pay my rent as i am about 3 months behind! please help me out and tell your friends about my offer! it'll be the easiest $100 youv'e ever made i promise!
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------- GUITARIST/VOCALIST SEEKING FEMALE DRUMMER : i'm starting a new cover band (seperate from Embryonic!) to play mostly alternative rock from 1978-1998 (with a few new ones thrown in here and there). I have played in original material bands and cover bands since i was 15..this summer i will be going to the Musicians Institute in Hollywood to get my degree in guitar performance. my background is mainly in punk and grunge but now im looking to expand and include more brit pop stuff. i will easily be the chillest and most hilarious guy youv'e ever worked with but i also take music seriously and wanna practice hard! BUT WHY A FEMALE DRUMMER?? i find women easier to work/get along with and also, i think the whole male/female dynamic is something that we can really, "market" and get a lot of mileage out of.. (if this makes sence lol) we will mostly be playing shows on the venice beach boardwalk to start out and then we will play wherever.. people call me a "crazed visionary" but i know what i want outta life and im willing to do whatever it takes to get there..now who will take the crazy journey with me?
PLEASE HAVE: intermediate level skills (able to play a variety of beats), have own drum set, be able to practice at least once a week (possibly more if we can work around our schedules) but the main purpose of the band is to simply have fun and build our chops and live playing experience! so hit me up i promise i dont bite! (hard hehe) or if u know a gal who plays the drums.. i have a bass player on deck already and a rhythm guitarist..ALSO IN ALL SERIOUSNESS DONT LISTEN TO THE SONG SAMPLES I HAVE UP! IT WONT LET ME DELETE THEM AND THEY ARE NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF MY STYLE OR TALENTS..LOL.
heres a small overview of bands whos' songs we will be covering:
blur, radiohead, pulp, manic street preachers, dead can dance, john frusciante, dinosuar jr, the melvins, shellac, big star, smashing pumpkins, nirvana, new pornographers, springsteen (im famous for my impression! lol) U2, r.e.m, matthew sweet, yo la tengo, ween, violent femmes, , janes addiction, fugazi, misfits, kings of leon, yeah yeah yeahs, london suede, supergrass, roxy music, bowie.. etc etc etc freekin etc! lol!
and we might incorporate some classic rock tunes from bands/artists like: tom petty, neil young, beatles, doors, dire straits, clapton, van morrison, etc etc

Sounds Like: Hopefully it sounds like good freekin music!! :) As you can see we have many influences but we strive to be original (dosent everyone? i hate it when bands say generic crap like this in interviews!) The acoustic songs are emo/pop/folk while the, "plugged" material mostly recalls 80's and 90's alternative/indie rock, the songs on the new album will touch on metal, punk, funk, 60's and 70's rock, old school hip hop, rock opera, jazz, folk, pop and noise rock all shot through with nerdy sensibilities! :)
