What is a songplugger? Where do I find one? How do I know if I'm ready to hire a songplugger? How do I find out if a songplugger is legitimate? Lots' of questions about songpluggers........Do you have some? I sent out surveys to songwriters here in Nashville, across the States and in Canada. The survey was anonymous, comprised of ten questions regarding a songwriter’s knowledge level about songplugging. There were some surprising results – well actually I was a little shocked by the lack of information, and especially by much of the misinformation. It's hard to get straight answers. I searched songwriter forums, and read any threads that I could find that were talking about songpluggers. I intend to set the record straight. I thought I knew almost everything there was to know about songplugging, but even I have learned so much more while writing this book. I interviewed 28 industry professionals about pitching songs, including; A&R; Producers; Hit Songwriters; 2007 Publisher of the Year; Pro-pluggers; ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, NSAI and SGA.
