She writes original music, paints & sculpts to feed her soul (and has since she was 12). She plays guitar, piano, bass, flute and other instruments to amuse the muse in herself and to bring out the best in the song. She says, "a great song, like great art, doesn't usually just happen - you work hard at chipping away what doesn't work to get to the masterpiece". You can also find Tina teaching songwriting and recording in her studio when she's not building her traditional business. She enjoys writing what comes through--sometimes it's pop, dance, rock, country, A/C, R&B, meditation music, Christian or alternative. "Great music is great music, no matter the genre", she says. She also loves writing jingles.She's a member of ASCAP and NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) for years and started a local chapter workshop that she teaches along with one of her cowriters, Steve Amos. She loves the energy of Nashville and the vibe of L.A. and travels to both music meccas for seminars, symposiums, expos, pitching, cowriting and special demo sessions.Expanding on her above bio highlights - she finished in the top 5 finals out of 15,000 in the CMT/NSAI listener's choice songwriting contest in '05 with cowritten song, "It's A God Thing" (T.Dod/S.Amos) . She was told recently, out of "many thousands of entries", "It's A God Thing" won again - this time as the country category winner of the Songdoor contest and she and her cowriters (T. Dod/ K.Byrnes/ A.Gurley) had a top 5 finalist with "Mr. Exotic" song in the pop category- new ground!
