Hey Dudes

About Me

..Well... My parents have been divorced since I was around five, and I grew up with my dad, step mom, and 4 sisters until I was 15; when my parents decided to adopt 2 more (did I mention 2 more sisters?). They adopted another one (yes, another sister) a year-or-so later, and then just within the last year they adopted two more (do I even have to mention... sisters). So I think that adds up to nine sisters now. You may wonder, "Why did they adopt only girls?" Well these were all teenage girls that were adopted, so to have adopted teenage boys and girls in the same house could lead to, well, teenage pregnancy. Anyway, I think my dad and step mom were pretty smart to do it that way. When I was growing up I usually only saw my mom 3 or 4 times a year, and not usually more than a couple days at a time. When I graduated high school I stayed with her for a summer which was nice (this is when I also started dating my current wife, but more on that later). I moved a couple times, but first to Kennewick and then to Vancouver. My mom moved to Vancouver around April 2005 to be closer to my wife and I, so now we get to spend quite a bit of time with her, which is good. I met my wife when I was in high school, but didn't really give her the time of day because we lived too far apart. I think if we would have dated it wouldn't have worked out, we would have broken up and things would not be how they are now. But anyway, I spent a summer with my mom and really got to know Rebecca. I thought we started "going out" on July 6, 2001 but I guess Rebecca didn't really know we were together until a few weeks later. I never did ask her out, I hoped that holding hands was kind of a mutual dating agreement. Or something like that. Did I mention that I only ever had one other girlfriend, and all we ever did was hold hands? I guess I was a little more clear on asking her out though... Anyway, so we started dating that summer and I moved a couple hours away to Kennewick, WA to go to school. Rebecca was in high school still (not saying that we did anything, but she was 18). I was able to visit Rebecca most weekends, so it wasn't too bad. We did have a couple rough times but we made it through. "I reckon what we have here is failure to communicate" (Line from Cool Hand Luke... i think it's accurate, been a while). Long story, but if you'd like to know ask me about it sometime. After Rebecca graduated from high school she moved to Vancouver, WA to go to a beauty school and live with her grandma. I asked Rebecca and her grandma if it would be okay if I moved with them, since there was a community college in Vancouver. They said I could, and i did. Rebecca and I were together a little over two years when I finally proposed (I think December 2003). The ring I got for Rebecca had a diamond in the center and two pear-shaped sapphires on either side. I got it because blue is Rebecca's favorite color, but the first thing she said after "yes" was, "awww... it's my sister's birthstone". (grrr....). Then I say, no, it's your favorite color. Anyway, she said yes and we were married June 19, 2004 in Pullman, WA in Lawson's Gardens. It was a very pretty place. It has been a wonderful marriage, and we have a baby girl named Abinaya Rose. She was born April 2007, and I'm very proud of her. I made her bust up laughing for the first time when she was about 3 months old. I made her giggle at times before that, but it wasn't until she was 3 months that she really laughed. I let my hair down and waved it back and forth in front of Abinaya's face, and she laughed for probably 10 minutes. Less than a week later I did my Donald Duck voice (which you can't understand, but anyway) and she laughed for 5-10 minutes. It was cute, I love being a daddy. And the job... Well it's work, it's not supposed to be fun, right? I must say that I work with the best bunch of guys a person can ask for. A little rowdy, rude, and obscene sometimes, but they're still great. Now I will try my best to describe what I do... I will start at the beginning, before I do my part... New cars (Hondas, Hyundais, and Subarus... sometimes Kias) are brough over from Japan or Korea by boat. Longshoremen drive these cars from the boat to the dock area. Temporary workers then drive the cars from the dock to designated rows where the cars are to be parked for labeling. From there, rail loaders drive the cars onto railcars. That's my job: rail loading. The job also involves prepping the railcars for loading and such. If anyone wants to offer me a job that involves some thought, has good health benefits, pays close to $3000 a month, and has a retirement plan hook me up with an interview. Preferably something computer-related, and not something to do with sales. Can't have my check dependant on how much I sell. That would be swell. Anywho... Thanks for reading all this, hopefully it wasn't too boring. In loving memory of my father in law....R.I.P We will miss you.

My Interests

..
I enjoy hiking, watching movies, playing computer games, boating, camping, paintball (haven't done that in a while, but I still like it), remote control vehicles (kid at heart), collecting shotglasses, playing the alto saxophone (less and less, but I try to play once in a while) and... more later if I can remember.

I'd like to meet:

Someone who will put me through school and give me a job that pays equal to or greater than $40,000 a year that also has good health benefits and a retirement plan.

Music:

Whatever's playing on the radio. R and B, blues, jazz, classical, some country, and some rap.

Movies:

Braveheart and a lot of other historical war movies, most Jim Carrey movies, animated comedies such as The Incredibles and Shrek 1 and 2, and movies including and similar to American Pie. Not too big on the "chick flicks", but there are a couple I like.

Television:

Pretty much all crime dramas

Books:

Don't tell anyone, but Harry Potter. I read them to my wife (did I mention that she has dyslexia) and started liking them myself. Not a huge fan of the first or second, but the newer ones aren't bad. I also like the older Tom Clancy books such as The Hunt for Red October and Without Remorse. I like other books from that genre also.

Heroes:

Jesus. A while ago I would've said Mel Gibson, but he had that whole racist rant. Even without his rant I wouldn't say he is my hero, I still like his movies though. I'm gonna stick with Jesus.
