Music and animals...and especially musical animals.
There's another person inside of this scientist, and there's no feeling in the world like letting that person come out on stage. My primary instruments are piano, drums and whatever else I can find that makes noise when you hit, shake, spin, drop or break it. I'll strum some chords on the guitar and recently picked up a fretless bass, which is super fun. There's a modest project studio in development, though I have no formal training and try to pick up whatever I can through experience, networking and reading magazines like TapeOp.
On the animal side of things, I've got a B.S. (how appropriate) in Zoology with an emphasis on vertebrate mammals. As far as my favorite animal goes, it's too hard to say, 'cause everything has its place and fills it perfectly. That being said however, sharks and primates are pretty freakin' awesome...
