I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Who am i here?Good Question. I guess it depends on who you are. People that enjoy my company know me to be intelligent and goofy. I can be way too serious but am working on that. It is hard not to be when so much is fucked up around us...ugh.I recently moved to Billings from Berlin, Germany and am very interested in meeting new friends here.
About the movies i have seen this year:
The best:
1. Southland Tales
2. Wilby Wonderful
3. Rocket Science
4. Wristcutters: A Love Story
5. Fido
The most mediocre:
1. Juno - No plot and very little character development. I was tempted to list it in the worst because Ellen Paige and Michael Cera butchered a great Moldy Peaches song.
2. I Am Legend - What happened here? An easy set up for an emotionally gripping conflict that causes the viewer to question their humanity that simply fizzles out in a series of action sequences.
3. The Nines - An excellent idea that ran into disaster when it tried to embrace pop culture.
The worst:
1. Night Skies - This movie should be shown any time John Mccain speaks in public.
2. Ghost Rider - As if Nicolas Cage could get much cheesier.

My Interests

I really enjoy travelling and meeting people, reading a good sci-fi novel or maybe some Chuck Pahlaniuk or Victor Pelevin when i am not caught up in something more serious (everything from particle physics to histories). Lately i have only been reading sci-fi. I am sometimes obsessed with film. At one time i was into depressing indy films, but that is much too close to reality. Movies should be escapist. Of course i also like to write, but that is a hobby that often slips into a job. Maybe one day it will be lucrative enough that i dont have to stress about money (i was once told by a university professor not to be stressed because stress is so bourgoise).

I'd like to meet:

Anyone like me...Ha!Actually, i enjoy meeting all kinds of people...just as long as you dont support the fascists we should at least get along. If you are a crazy queer like me, then we will be fast friends.

Television:

Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis

Books:

Best books i have read this year: 1. The Road by Cormac McCarthy 2. Conquest: Sexual Violence and American Indian Genocide by Andrea Smith
